The name of the capital of Georgia in translation means "warm", and refers to a spring of warm sulfate water around the source of which are built many baths that provide true relaxation after a long day.

One of the main attractions of Georgia is the city in caves which was a great pagan shrine. Excavations have shown that it originated as early as the 4th century BC, while in the time of the Greeks and Romans it could accommodate up to 20,000 inhabitants. It is fascinating to walk through unusual streets, stairs and chambers, and the view that stretches from the cliffs is unforgettable.

Gori is famous for Stalin, who was born there. There is a large museum dedicated to this dictator in the city, but unfortunately most of the things have not been translated and consist mostly of photographs. In front of the museum is his birthplace as well as the train he used for all his travels for fear of flying.

The Kazbegi region is definitely one of the leading Georgian attractions. Most of the photos that have traveled the world and served as an advertisement to Georgia show a small church on top of a hill surrounded by mountain ranges. Well, that church is located in the Kazbegi region. All nature lovers will not easily forget this part of Georgia.

Apart from the fact that the cuisine of this former Soviet republic is an irresistible combination of European and Asian influences, it is served in extremely large portions. The word meaning Georgian meal is supra, which can literally be translated as "feast".

Georgia has a distinct four seasons among which it is recommended to avoid traveling in winter. Namely, winters in Georgia are cold and humid. All the remaining parts of the year are pleasant.
